Martin Hopkins – Solicitor, Lewisham Office

Martin deals with commercial and residential property and is an expert in the law relating to Lordships of the Manor.

A graduate of Bristol University, Martin trained with Coward Chance (now Clifford Chance) in London before moving to the New Cross office of Stitt & Co., eventually becoming a partner. In 1980 he founded his own practice in Kennington where he remained until 2000 when he became a consultant at Buss Murton in Kent. In 2005 he returned to practice in South London, near Tower Bridge. As well as specialising in both commercial and residential property, Martin is one of the country’s leading experts in the law relating to Lordships of the Manor and has lectured at conferences organised by the Manorial Society.

An accomplished long-distance walker, Martin has completed treks in Chile, Tasmania, Japan, New Zealand and Nepal, including the Annapurna Circuit in the Himalayas. He is currently engaged, in annual weekly stages, in completing the Camino de Santiago which features in the film “The Way”.
